Update in Allergy and Immunology 2008

September 26-27, 2008
Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando®

Orlando, Florida

Sponsored By:

USF Health

Course Description

The purpose of the Update in Allergy and Immunology symposium is to educate primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals who evaluate and treat adults and children with difficult allergic and immunologic problems. This year’s program will focus on the latest breakthroughs and recommendations for the evaluation and management of chronic inflammatory diseases affecting the upper and lower respiratory tract.

In response to the fact that there is confusion and variability among primary care physicians regarding recommended current treatment strategies for asthma, the course will enable participants to implement the most current NIH-recommended treatment strategies for treating asthma and recognize when specialist referral is appropriate. In addition, variability exists in evaluation and treatment of allergy symptoms. This course will identify validated and recommended modalities of allergy testing and immunotherapy for allergic diseases. All course content will be aligned with the Clinical Competencies of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology as well as the Practice Guidelines of the NIH and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology.
