Course Description
 
Aldosterone is increasingly recognized to play an important role in improving the clinical outcome for patients with post myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure the pathophysiology of heart failure due to systolic left ventricular dysfunction (SLVD) and aldosterone blockade (AB) to be effective in reducing mortality and morbidity in patients with severe chronic heart failure and heart failure due to SLVD after myocardial infarction.
 

 

Objectives
 

Upon the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:

  • Explain the impact of aldosterone production in the post myocardial infarction and congenital heart failure patient
  • Review the clinical effects of aldosterone blockade
  • Discuss the mechanisms by which aldosterone blockade improves clinical outcomes
 

 

Target Audience
 

This course is designed for physicians, ARNPs, and PAs whose patient population includes those presenting with cardiovascular disease.

 

 

Accreditation
 

The University of South Florida College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of South Florida College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.
