COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide the participant with an overview of electrical
installations and equipment. Emphasis is placed on controlling electrical
hazards by the application of OSHA standards and the National Electrical
Code.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the effects of electrical current on the human body with respect to
voltage, current path, and the duration of exposure
- Understand OSHA electrical standards
- Detect electrical hazards, determine which OSHA standards apply, and achieve
the appropriate abatement
- Understand the proper use of safety electrical test equipment
- Understand how the National Electrical Code ties into OSHA’s electrical standard.
