Continuing Education offered by the College
of Public Health includes specific annual and one-time conferences/workshops
for Public Health Professionals which are sponsored by the College or in
partnership with Public Health Programs, Agencies, or Associations. Programs
offered usually carry continuing education credits to meet the needs of
the anticipated audience. The College is an approved provider of Nursing,
Social Work, Registered Dietitian, Certified Addiction Professionals, Physical
Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Certified Health Education Specialist
(CHES) CEU's, and regularly applies for accreditation from outside approval
agencies as needed.
Annual programs and topics include: Social
Marketing Conference and Field Schools, The Physical and Developmental
Environment of the High-Risk Infant, Environmental and Occupational
Health training and certificate programs, and international
training offerings. Specific programs have included the following
programs/topics: HIV Prevention Conference; other HIV topics;
Southeastern Tobacco Prevention network Teen Leadership Training;
Tobacco Free Florida; School Health; Epidemiology; and ASPO/Lamaze.
The college offers full-service conference planning and management
services, including technical assistance.
