Course Description
 

This review course is designed to show the correlation between clinical, radiographic and pathologic data. The course will present the medical and surgical management of musculoskeletal disease. The topics will include clinical staging, clinicoradiological interpretation, pathology and treatment. A concentrated focus will be placed on various types of tumors, such as bone, osseous, cartilaginous, lipomatous, muscular and neurogenic. The course will feature didactic sessions and interactive case presentations. There will be ample opportunity for the participant to ask questions and interact with the faculty.

 



Target Audience
 

The intended audience includes orthopaedic residents, orthopaedic surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, physician assistants, and nurses who may diagnose and treat musculoskeletal abnormalities and tumors.

 


Objectives
 

Upon completion of this conference, the participant will be able to:

  • Define and describe musculoskeletal abnormalities.
  • Assess and diagnose musculoskeletal abnormalities.
  • Recommend appropriate methods of biopsy and pathology assessment.
  • Discuss the medical, surgical and radiological advances related to
    musculoskeletal tumors.
  • Examine current therapeutic methods of musculoskeletal tumors.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential
Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of South Florida College of
Medicine, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and University of

Refund Policy
Registration fees will be refunded minus a cancellation fee of $50.00 until May 26, 2008 with written notification. No refunds will be made after May 27, 2008. However, you may transfer your registration to a colleague. The University of South Florida Office of Continuing Professional Development reserves the right to cancel the course due to unforeseen circumstances. The University of South Florida will not be responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participant in the case of cancellation.

Please call the hotel toll free at (800) 327-2888. The conference group rate of $239.00 has been secured for a single or double room. Advise the hotel that you are with the Musculoskeletal Oncology Review Conference to receive the group rate. Hotel rooms are subject to applicable state and local taxes and a resort fee.

Hotel reservations must be made by May 6, 2008. After this date, room rate and availability are not guaranteed due to the high season for this time of year in the Florida Keys. Early air travel and hotel reservations are strongly suggested.

Cheeca Lodge is located approximately 75 miles from Miami International Airport, 20
miles from Marathon Airport and 75 miles from Key West. Transportation is available
from the Miami airport by shuttle, taxi cab and rental cars.
