Course Description

This symposium will provide participants with emerging therapeutic options and clinical trials for the care, treatment and management of skull base tumors. Specific topics include conventional therapy, surgical options, underlying physiology of targeted therapy, chemotherapy and clinical trials. Learners will be engaged through an interactive case presentation with the use of an audience response system and a cadaveric lab demonstration.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses and Physician Assistants specializing in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Radiation Oncology, Medical oncology, Plastic Surgery, Oral Surgery, Radiology and Oncology

 


Objectives
As a result of participation in this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Apply a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of skull base patient
  • Evaluate new screening and staging procedures in the management of skull base lesions
  • Recommend management and treatment options for skull base tumors
  • Identify the role of radiation therapy in primary treatment and new radiation options for advanced tumors
  • Determine the most effective speech and swallowing rehabilitation in the head and neck patient
  • Recommend therapeutic options for facial nerve paralysis
