Course Description
 

The Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) is a 2 day standardized course recognized internationally for providing the learner with core-level trauma knowledge and psychomotor skill experience.  TNCC integrates the trauma nursing process into the content.  The 6th edition reflects the most current research and treatment guidelines for the trauma patient.

TNCC course taught at USF integrates psychomotor skills training into the simulation center using task trainers and high fidelity simulation to provide the student with further realism during the psychomotor skill stations.

 



Target Audience
 

This course is targeted to the Emergency Department RN with at least six months experience.

Accreditation
 

Upon successful completion of the course requirements the RN will receive 15.33 CECH hours.  Credit is award through the Emergency Nurses Association.  TNCC certification is valid for 4 years.

Course Materials
 

Each student will be required to have a copy of the TNCC 6th Edition book. 

The cost of the book is included in the course registration and will be mailed 30 days prior to the course.  To address provided on the registration form.

 


Registration
 

Registration:

Class size is limited please register early.  Registration and payment is online only.  Course registration must be completed 20 days prior to the course selected.  Students registering for the course with less than 20 days prior to the course date will be subject to a $20.00 late registration processing fee.  Students are still required to fulfill the course requirements. 

Cancellation of course must be completed 7 days prior to the date of the course in writing to the program director at the address identified below.  A $75.00 administrative processing fee will be withheld.  Failure to provide timely notification of course changes or cancellation may result in forfeit of all registration fees.  A student may choose to switch registration to another date providing space is available. 

The University of South Florida College of Medicine reserves the right to cancel these courses due to unforeseen circumstances. In the case of cancellation, a full refund will be given to participants. The USF COM will not be responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participant due to the seminar cancellation.

TNCC will be held in the Center for Advance Clinical Learning which is located in the College of Nursing at the University of South Florida, Tampa, and Specific Location will be e-mailed to the registrant when registration has been processed.
